to be fair, these are half the lyrics of the original version, which would have been twice as long. at the time i cared about song length... but, to be blunt, this song IS about something that matters to me, a dead friend. i just hide the real meaning behind all this imagery. at the time of writing it (about 6 yrs after the friend's sudden death) this was still all i could say about her, about how i felt... about how i was dealing with it, still... and it came out in this dreamy super-saturated metaphor, with so many esoteric and/or freudian symbols, he'd have a field day... now if i wrote this song i'd probably go the other direction with it, turn it into a story about some other girl, her death and 'walking as she flies,'
etc... anyway, thanks for the compliments on the vox and instrumentation, much appreciated, as well as the favoriting.
